Starting on January 1, 2020, there will be an increase in the taxable wage cap in the state. The cap will rise from 28x the State Average Weekly Wage to 107x the State Average Weekly Wage.

  • Starting on January 1, 2020, there will be an increase in the taxable wage cap in the state. The cap will rise from 28x the State Average Weekly Wage to 107x the State Average Weekly Wage.
  • Beginning on July 1, 2020, there will be an increase in the weekly benefit cap for Temporary Disability Insurance. The TDI max weekly benefit will increase from 2/3 of the employee’s average weekly wage to 85% of the employee’s average weekly wage (capped at 70% of the State Average Weekly Wage).
  • Starting on July 1, 2020, employees will be eligible to receive Temporary Disability Insurance benefits on a partial basis through a reduced work schedule.

Employers should prepare for these upcoming changes, including altering their handbooks/new hire kits (when official documents are created by the State) and integrating TDI benefit changes into their payroll system.
