As you have likely heard in the news, the Food and Drug Administration issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and we expect a second EUA for Moderna’s vaccine to be issued shortly after December 17. The vaccine has been authorized for use in the prevention of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for individuals 16 years of age and older.

Many details surrounding the distribution of the vaccine remain to be seen, however in an effort to keep you as up-to-date as possible we are providing the current information available below. We will continue to share more details about the COVID-19 vaccine as they become available.
At this time, as per the major carriers (Cigna, UHC, Oxford, Aetna, BCBS) patients will have no out-of-pocket cost for the vaccine or administration cost. The vaccine is initially provided by government. The administration cost is paid for by the carrier’s medical or prescription plan.
The COVID-19 vaccine supply will initially be limited, with the first doses designated for frontline healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities. Over the next three to four months we anticipate that vaccine supply will increase significantly and there will be opportunities for additional groups to be vaccinated.
