Marc Levy, Chief Executive Officer
Since 1998, Marc Levy has been at the helm of MBL Benefits Consulting. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 1992, Marc started his career in the financial services arena as a Financial Analyst. While holding various positions within the financial advisory profession, Marc saw a huge need for helping business owners determine better benefits solutions for their companies, and thus founded MBL Benefits Consulting. Marc’s expertise and commitment to excellence have enabled him to provide his clients with the benefits solutions they need to stay competitive and fiscally sound in today’s demanding business environment. Over 1,000 businesses have trusted his guidance over the years. Marc also specializes in providing individuals with personal financial planning and estate planning services. Marc resides in Livingston, NJ, with his wife Stephanie and their two children.

Howard Metzger, President
Howard Metzger has been in the benefits-consulting field for over ten years. Howard’s undergraduate work was completed at Ohio State, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing. As one of the founders of MBL Benefits Consulting, Howard has been with the company since its inception in 1998 and is now the firm’s president. Howard specializes in group benefits, serving over 250 companies today. Howard has been able to successfully align his customers’ expectations to well- designed strategic benefit plans. He brings a strong knowledge of today’s cutting-edge products in the health and group-benefits arena to his clients. Howard resides in Bedford, NY with his wife Beth and their two children.

James A. Woehlke, COO and General Counsel
Jim joined MBL Benefits Consulting in 2010. Previously, he was general counsel of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants for eleven years and director of tax policy for the four years preceding. He also served for four years as a technical manager in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Tax Division. Jim practiced accounting with KMG/Main Hurdman, including one year with that firm’s Washington National Tax Office, and law with the Wichita, Kansas, law firm of Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch. Jim is currently licensed in New York as an attorney and CPA and holds ASAE’s Certified Association Executive designation..
Jim is very active in professional societies, having served as Secretary and Treasurer of the ACC Greater New York Chapter, and on the Legal Section Council of the American Society of Association Executives. He chaired the ACC Nonprofit Organizations Committee twice and served on the Nonprofit Organizations Committee of the New York City Bar Association. Jim is a member of the NYSSCPA Human Resources Committee and CFO Committee.
Jim graduated cum laude from Grove City College. He received his J.D. and M.B.A. from Drake University and a Master of Law–Taxation with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center. Jim and his wife Kristal live in Poughkeepsie, NY, where they raised their five sons.

Jason Lauter, Vice President
Jason Lauter has over twelve years of benefits-consulting experience. After several years working as an intern for MBL Benefits Consulting, Jason became a full-time Benefits Consultant and soon broadened his practice to specialize in the Property and Casualty insurance business. Today, Jason is Vice President of MBL and has succeeded in helping his individual and business clients reach financial safety and manage risk in an economical and strategic manner. He derives a great deal of satisfaction from partnering with his clients, using his expertise to guide them in making decisions that add value to their insurance and risk-management programs. Jason earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from SUNY, Albany in 2001. Jason lives in Holmdel, NJ with his wife Jessie and son Lucas.

Joshua Mandell, Vice President
Josh entered the financial services business after graduating from Indiana University, Kelly School of Business, with a BS in Finance in 2001. Attracted to its client-centric focus, Josh joined MBL Benefits Consulting. After working within the individual market for awhile, Josh expanded his services to help businesses with their group-benefits programs. Now, in addition to helping individuals achieve financial security, he helps his client companies design efficient benefits programs with healthy, long-term financial feasibility plans. Josh leverages his financial expertise and plan-design experience to help his clients navigate the complex world of benefits, freeing them to focus on what they do best – operate their companies. Josh is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and resides on Long Island with his wife Katy and their two daughters.
